Lizzie Baker

Co-founder

Lizzie is a fourth year in the McIntire School of Commerce concentrating in IT and Marketing with a track in Business Analytics. She was a member of the Varsity Women’s Tennis team from 2017 until 2019. Currently, she volunteers as a teaching aide in local Charlottesville elementary schools and is a student advisor for freshman students at the University of Virginia. Lizzie’s passion for both sustainability and community impact led her to co-found Refurnished, and she is excited to move forward!

Spencer Bozsik

Co-founder | Business Development Specialist

Spencer is a fourth year in the McIntire School of Commerce studying Finance and IT. He is a member of the Men’s Tennis team at UVA and is dedicated to helping the Charlottesville community in any way that he can. Spencer has experience working with nonprofits after founding a program in 2016, which was dedicated to providing funds to tennis players who were unable to afford tournament fees.

David Brenman

Co-founder

David is a fourth year in the School of Engineering and Applied Science majoring in Systems Engineering with a second major in Economics. He has prior work experience operating Systems Development for an agricultural firm in Brazil, and spent his most recent summer conducting research on the potential of decarbonizing Virginia’s energy sector.

Alec Brewer

Co-founder | Operations Specialist

Alec spent much of his academic career engaged in the Charlottesville and UVA sustainability and tech innovation communities, pursuing a variety of medand sustainability projects. In addition to Refurnished, Alec is also a co-founder and the CEO of Transfoam llc, reflecting his personal devotion to resourceful innovation for social and environmental justice.

Giovanni Cianciaruso

Co-founder | Technology Specialist

Giovanni is a second year Computer Science major with a focal point in cybersecurity who has worked at premiere cybersecurity firm FireEye. As an individual, Giovanni strives to leverage his academic background and expertise in technology to address his true passion for fighting systemic social and sustainability issues in his community. Refurnished represents an exciting new opportunity to address the issues of furniture waste and furniture poverty in the community surrounding his residence in Charlottesville, and he hopes to grow the organization during his time at UVA.
