Volunteers can assist us in moving & sanitizing furnishings, and are welcome to apply to one of our leadership positions indicated below!

Volunteering Roles and Leadership Opportunities
Mover
Movers will physically collect donations, sanitize them, and load & unload furnishings at pickup and drop-off locations. They need to ensure that the furnishings are in quality/sanitized condition prior to dropping off the furnishings with recipients, as well as taking care not to damage any furnishings in the process of moving.
Another option for movers: If movers own, and are willing to use their own car for pickup and drop-offs, they are highly encouraged to do so.
Student Ambassador
Student Ambassadors will represent Refurnished in spreading the word to UVA communities in which they are involved, such as athletic teams, Greek life, and clubs to recruit donations and volunteers. With the help of our management team, they will also help to verify the type, quality, and condition of donations in their affiliate organizations.
Volunteer Team Leader
Volunteer Team Leaders have the most responsibility among volunteers, helping to coordinate volunteer groups and execute moves. With time, Team Leads will have the opportunity to take on more meaningful roles, such as recruiting and training new volunteers, as well as joining the management team!
